New Finger Lakes Mural at Burdett Exchange on the Southeast Side of Seneca Lake

Aug 26

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve completed a new Finger Lakes mural at The Burdett Exchange on the southeast side of Seneca Lake! This artwork is a celebration of our incredible local agriculture, the beauty of our lakes, and all the living things that depend on a thriving ecosystem. It feels perfectly at home on this wonderful store, where fresh local food is sold thanks to dedicated local farmers.

I am so grateful to Burdett Exchange for their amazing support throughout the 14-day mural journey. Their help—including renting a platform lift—let me make the most of this fantastic canvas! Huge thanks to every visitor and the welcoming people of Burdett, who were so encouraging even during the messiest sketching stages. And a special shoutout to Overlook Coffee—your espresso fueled my painting! Burdett truly is a beautiful, fun, and inspiring place.

This project wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity and vision of Ithaca Murals and Smart Energy Choices NY. Their financial backing and guidance empowered 17+ artists in the Southern Tier this summer, bringing public art and cultural enrichment to our communities.

Lastly, endless thanks to my family—Abby, Cindy, and Jim Watson. I couldn’t have crossed the lake without your love and support!

Thank you all for helping make this mural come to life
